S&P Global — FutureChoice.AI

Generative AI is here—and it’s set to transform every corner of our world.

But with rapid progress come difficult decisions, whose consequences may not surface for decades. Who will govern AI? How will we power its insatiable demand? And what kind of environmental legacy will we leave behind?

These questions are at the heart of FutureChoice.AI, an interactive installation developed for S&P Global. Designed to spark reflection and dialogue, the experience challenges participants to navigate the complex tensions between technological innovation, energy use, and environmental responsibility.

The experience centres on a multiplayer strategy game with each player taking on the role of a key stakeholder in the AI ecosystem. As decisions unfold, a dynamic 3D simulation projects their collective future 25 years ahead, revealing the ripple effects of each action. The concluding outcome is a shared worldview: a hopeful glimpse of what’s possible, or a stark warning of what’s at stake.

Tactile encoder dials offer an intuitive interface, keeping participants immersed without the distraction of secondary screens. At the end of each session, a personalised printout provides a snapshot of the future they helped shape and a tangible takeaway from the experience.

FutureChoice.AI debuted at CERAWeek, March 10–14 2025 in Houston, Texas.
